Butter on My Passport

The first comic from Waegook in Hangook.

Waegook in Hangook

Hey guys and dolls, I have a new comic over on Facebook, you can find it here.

It will follow my non-adventures as a foreigner living and working in South Korea.

I might post some comics here occasionally, but if you want to see it then head over to the above link! Go now!

Onion Breath

This is my entry for the 2010 Comica/Jonathan Cape/Observer Graphic Short Story Prize. It follows the misadventures of Jinho, a rather malodorous Korean teenager.

I lived in South Korea for the entirety of 2009, teaching English as a foreign language. When I heard about the competition, it just made sense to me to use Korea in my comic. Korea is a fascinating country with a lot of history, yet it is not so well known in England (where I hail from), where it is perhaps most famous for its people eating dogs! (Which they do, by the way, but I've seen very few restaurants selling it.)

Anyway enough of my talking, I do hope you enjoy it. (Oh, make sure to click on each page and view them at full size.)

The Earth Cools And Oceans Form

Here's your last one for today. Another of the images I'm doing to illustrate the history of the Earth. This one shows the formation of the oceans. Cos the Earth was crying, natch.

Unrequited Love

Don't get used to this many uploads in a day. I'm still in the process of bringing this place up-to-date. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Yes

And now for a little comic surrealness. By the way, you may see a glut of uploads this week, I'm trying to get this site up-to-date before I leave for a grand tour of Europe next Monday.

Cloning

This is part of a collaborative comic with many great artists, dealing with the history of the world. Nothing too ambitious, then. Started by the great bobbymono, check him out here.

Tiger and Bear in: Dokdo

My first ever published work! Woo! .A little backstory - The tiger and bear are characters in Korean mythology. Japan and Korea have a history of anomisity. Dokdo/Takeshima are two names for the same thing - a disputed island between the two nations. Written by Ed Pye, drawn by me.
